Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or a closely related field
  • Child Life specific clinical training experience (e.g., practicum and/or internship) in a pediatric medical setting
  • Trained in Child Development principles and impact of illness and hospitalization on children and families; application of therapeutic play, developmental education, and expressive modalities to address psychosocial needs of children and families
  • National Certified Child Life Specialist - Association of Child Life Professionals within 6 months (180 days) of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience working with young children and adolescents in a healthcare setting
  • Completion of at least 600 hours of clinical training supervised by a Certified Child Life Specialist
