Child Life Program Manager
About The Position
Responsible for the hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision of the Child Life Specialists. Facilitates the day to day management and coordination of the department and supports/advocates for improvements to the Child Life department. Manages the budget and expense requests for department. Assists the Child Life, nursing, and medical staff in providing psychosocial and emotional support to pediatric patients through the use of therapeutic play, which helps children to express their feelings. The department also enables the patient and family to understand the child's illness and overall hospital procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in Child Life.
- Supervisory experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Knowledge of therapeutic play.
- Ability to provide psychosocial and emotional support.
- Ability to help patients and families understand illness and hospital procedures.
