About The Position

I. PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM: Child First is an evidenced based, psychotherapeutic model that provides home-based assessment, family plan development, parent-child therapeutic intervention and education, and care coordination/case management for high risk families with pregnant people and/or children from birth to five years old, to decrease social-emotional and behavioral problems, developmental and learning problems, and abuse and neglect. This service uses a relationship-based approach that focuses on the primary attachment relationships of the young child and supports the parent, through its two-person service team, to enhance the family environment via protective, nurturing, and responsive interactions. II. POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor will be trained in and provide leadership of the Child First model. The supervisor will provide frequent and ongoing feedback to the clinicians and care coordinators, as well as facilitate weekly team consultation and case reviews. The supervisor will ensure model fidelity, timely documentation of all required materials, and work towards certification of all team members in the Child First model. Maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Department of Children and Families and other community partners is integral to this role.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or other counseling degrees.
  • Must be clinically licensed
  • Three years of experience working with children and families required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in the following content areas preferred: family systems theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, adverse childhood experiences, trauma, child development, substance use disorders, and intimate partner violence.
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
  • Cultural competency to serve a diverse population
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff members, including orientation, evaluation, and support/monitoring of staff development.
  • Works as a team member with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Partners with supervisors to identify and develop plans for professional growth.
  • With supervisor’s approval, partners with other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients’ unmet needs or service gaps.
  • Acquiring and maintaining the needed skills in evidenced based models that the agency/program ascribes to.
  • Staff Training: All Child First staff will receive model specific training. Additionally, Clinical Supervisors will receive advanced Child First training and weekly case consultation will be required with Child First Model Developers.
  • Will ensure timely entry of all data into the DCF PIE system
  • Participates in 24/7 supervisory support for on- call crisis calls on a rotating basis with other supervisors.
  • Supervise directly 4 clinicians and 4 care coordinators
