The Child Development Specialist will assist the FRC staff in the instructional process, recreational activities, and the execution of FRC and/or programming duties. This role involves developing relationships with children through mentorship to provide support, guidance, and positive interaction, aiming to ease the fear, anger, and sadness that may result from homeless shelter placement. The specialist will assess and document children's academic, social-emotional, and physical milestone progress, developing individualized strategies for growth. They will communicate observations to FRC staff, actively monitor children, and provide exposure to positive activities and life skills. The role also includes supporting the Supervisor's planning and implementation of learning activities for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade, executing the weekly calendar of activities, and assisting with the daily set-up and clean-up of the Family Resource Center. Data entry into the FRC data tracker is also a key responsibility.
