About The Position
Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services, a not-for-profit community mental health center, has a Full Time opening for a Bachelor’s Level Project BASIC Child Development Specialist to provide early intervention services in Campbell County schools. This position is perfect for an early career social sciences major who wants to work the school schedule. Training provided! The Project BASIC Child Development Specialist targets children in kindergarten through third grade. The right candidate will be embedded in Campbell County schools and will provide services such as social-emotional learning groups for children and training for teachers and families. This position works during the school year only and is off during Campbell County school breaks. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/social science discipline
- Experience with children (ages 5-8 years)
- Individual and group leadership skills required
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree from accredited school of Social Work preferred
- Familiarity with and/or experience in school setting helpful
Responsibilities
- Assessment of children at risk of mental health problems
- Individual and group support for students and parents
- Consultation to teachers
- Presentation of classroom programming based on BASIC curriculum guidelines
- Networking and referral to community resources
- Planning and implementation of activities that stress wellness concepts
- Maintain a positive working relationship with school systems and other community service agencies
