To provide comprehensive development programs and assessment for preschool ages. This role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating developmental programs for infants and preschoolers, training parents to facilitate child's programs, and providing case management and support to families. The specialist will function as part of an interdisciplinary team in assessment and planning for children, determine if program objectives are being met, and recommend testing to measure the effectiveness of instructions. Responsibilities also include providing case management and family documentation through reports, case files, and other related records, participating in overall project work plans and evaluation/quality assurance efforts, and adhering to internal controls. Specific duties include obtaining detailed developmental, medical, and educational histories, educating and supporting families on special education processes, services, and advocacy, assisting families with school enrollment and access to Early Childhood Special Education and other school-based services, supporting parents in navigating school systems and securing appropriate educational accommodations and resources, facilitating communication and information-sharing among families, schools, healthcare providers, and the Special Education Navigator, and providing ongoing consultation on educational needs between clinic visits.
