Under direction, the Child Development Specialist (CDS) will provide services to children ages birth to 36 months, who have or are at risk of having developmental delays, and their families in a manner that is congruent with ECF’s mission. This role involves planning individual programs, conducting case management, and evaluating progress using a trans-disciplinary approach. The CDS will also conduct assessments, determine goals, and develop curriculum based on individual plans. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, creating a safe and conducive learning environment, and ensuring the care of clients, including toileting, diapering, feeding, and changing clothes. For center-based roles, supervision of classroom staff and site maintenance are also key duties. The position requires timely and regular documentation of case notes, reports, and evaluations, as well as maintaining communication with parents and reporting any suspected child abuse as mandated by California law. The CDS will also attend and participate in various meetings and trainings.
