About The Position

Our Child Care Workers play a vital role in nurturing and supporting young children’s development. They create a safe, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Child Care Workers are responsible for providing care and supervision for children whose parents are receiving and participating in NARA’s health and wellness services and special events.

Requirements

• Diploma or GED certification required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Must be registered on the Central Background Registry.
• Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
• Must pass criminal background.
• Must meet NARA NW drivers' requirements: Active, valid drivers license, Active auto insurance, Good-standing driving record with no more than one accident within the last three years.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an in-home childcare provider or in-center childcare provider
• Early childhood education
• CPR certification
• Experience working with Native American/ Alaska Native community is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and recreational activities for children.
• Keep documentation daily of child’s progress.
• Drive children to appointments or events, on an infrequent basis.
• Prepare and serve snacks to children.
• Notify Case Manager and the Child Development Managers of progress or problems regarding childcare.
• Help facilitate ASQ questionnaire/SE for all children onsite.
• Practice child safety policies and procedures, and complete required training.
• Follow policies and procedures per NARA NW, DELC, DHS, and OSHA regulations.
