About The Position

The incumbent in this position will work under the direction of the Section Manager. This requires caring for children from the ages of six (6) months of age through eighteen (18) years of age. Care to include, but not limited to, providing a safe environment, changing of diapers/pull-ups, feeding infants, and calming upset children. Communication with the Section Manager and Director should a child need disciplinary action above 'time out', safety issues, ideas for improving the children's area, in the case of an ill child, a child with continued bad behavior, or a child who is crying uncontrollably. This incumbent must also keep this area clean. Additional duties may be added and section amended at any time with administration approval.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Infant and Child CPR First Aid certification (must complete within first 90 days of employment)
Able to lift up to 40 pounds
Able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
Good oral, auditory and visual skills
Able to calm upset children, use re-direction tactics
Capable of interpreting needs of children
Capable of interpreting complex instructions
Demonstrate high-level cognitive skills
