About The Position

YWCA NENY's Early Learning Center is growing, and we are hiring both Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers for our Infant and Toddler classrooms. Whether you’re beginning your early childhood career or bringing years of classroom experience, you'll help create a warm, engaging, and safe environment where children can learn, play, and reach important milestones.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Ability to engage in active play and lift up to 25 lbs. when needed
• All role required checks

Nice To Haves

• Childcare experience preferred (Assistant Teacher)
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus (Assistant Teacher)
• CDA, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (Lead Teacher)
• Previous experience leading or working in an early childhood classroom setting (Lead Teacher)
• A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow

Responsibilities

• Support and create engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
• Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Observe and document children’s development and progress
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Lead or support classroom routines, planning, and daily activities based on role responsibilities
