About The Position

Riley Crossing is one of our newest senior living/child care communities located in Chanhassen, MN, near Hwy 101 and County Road 212. It hosts 134 units of Independent/Assisted Living, Enhanced, and Memory Care in total. This location offers a on-site intergenerational childcare center which includes interactive programming with our senior residents. Chanhassen was named one of the best small towns in the U.S. by Money Magazine, and Riley Crossing has won local awards for the best retirement community. Under the supervision of the Child Care Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for care and supervision of children in their assigned age group which may include infant, toddler, preschool or school-age children. Responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Teacher or Aide assigned to the classroom. To lead, plan and organize childcare program activities to ensure that the program provides the highest quality childcare available. This position includes: 80 hours per two weeks, Tuesday - Friday; 7AM- 5PM, Working in our infant classroom.

Requirements

  • Child Development or Teacher qualified under Minnesota Rule 9503.0032
  • Current Pediatric CPR American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days

Responsibilities

  • Research and development of curriculum relevant to your classroom age group.
  • Provide weekly plans to both the Director and the parents of the childcare program.
  • Ensures implementation of age-appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate the psychosocial, cognitive and cultural needs of the children in their care.
  • Responsible to report any concerns to director any concerns regarding staff or classroom issues.
  • Keeps necessary attendance records, up-to-date emergency forms, curriculum plans, individual child development profile and other records as needed.
  • Responsible to communicate with parents on child development issues, policies or other concerns related to their child.
  • Responsible for securing health, hygiene, safety and overall well-being of children at all times.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences twice per year.
  • Complete assessments of children on an on-going basis.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and information of staff and families.
  • Strict compliance with universal precautions in the classroom or/and when administering first aid.
  • Directly supervise classroom aides and volunteers. Report all needed information to the center’s Director.
  • Report daily needs and activities to the Director.
  • Maintain attendance and daily meal count.
  • Maintain daily program schedule.
  • Supervises health and safety needs of every child.
  • Conducts classroom and parent meetings.
  • Keeps classroom neat and orderly.
  • Trains and guides the assigned Assistant Teacher, Aide and/or Volunteer, involving them in activity planning and program implementation with input from supervisor.
