About The Position

Casey's is looking for a full-time Child Care Teacher to work at our Ankeny Store Support Center on-site Child Development Center. As a Child Care Teacher, you will be responsible for the daily care of an assigned group of children, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining the environment in accordance with program objectives.  You will ensure compliance with established policies and procedures within assigned program area. As a Child Care Teacher, you will also: Perform general care and specific daily interactions with an assigned group of children. Maintain regular observational and developmental records for each child. Maintain daily communication with parents concerning their child's behavior and development. Plan, prepare, maintain, schedule, and supervise developmentally appropriate learning centers and activities to meet weekly objectives. Attend to personal and physical needs for assigned group of children. Help maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean, organized and a child-safe environment. Attend staff and parent meetings, as required. Attend conferences related to the childcare field, and acquire the necessary hours as stated in the state licensing guidelines. Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Child Development or related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of childcare and development.
  • Annual Universal Precautions training.
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Mandatory child abuse training class.
  • Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must.
  • Fun and enthusiastic attitude is required.
  • Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially relating to children.
  • Constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Excellent creativity used in developing children's programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Prior experience in a child-care setting.
