Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Child Development or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of childcare and development.
  • Annual Universal Precautions training.
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Mandatory child abuse training class.
  • Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must.
  • Fun and enthusiastic attitude required.
  • Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially relating to children.
  • Constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  • Excellent creativity used in developing children's programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Prior experience in a child-care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Nurture and care for an assigned group of children each day
  • Design fun, developmentally appropriate activities and learning centers
  • Support emotional, social, physical, and cognitive growth
  • Observe, document, and celebrate children’s progress
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and caregivers
  • Keep classrooms clean, safe, and full of energy and creativity
  • Follow licensing regulations, program guidelines, and best practices
  • Participate in ongoing learning, staff collaboration, and professional development
