About The Position

Old Colony YMCA is hiring a Childcare Teacher at its Easton Branch. The teacher helps create a safe, supportive, engaging classroom where children can learn, explore, build confidence, and develop positive relationships with caring adults. The role involves leading classroom activities and developing lesson plans that reflect children’s interests, abilities, talents, cultures, and individual learning styles. The position is full-time, with at least 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Shifts fall between 6:45 AM and 5:30 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old, or have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet EEC education and experience requirements for a Teacher.
EEC Teacher Certification.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications; the posting also says training is available.
Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
A genuine passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and have fun.

Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, movement, and exploration.
Create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child can thrive.
Develop lesson plans that reflect each child’s interests, abilities, talents, culture, and individual learning style.
Lead daily classroom activities and help create an engaging, organized learning environment.
Build positive relationships with children and serve as a caring, dependable role model.
Follow EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony YMCA policies and procedures.
