Child Care Teacher-Floater
About The Position
The Child Care Teacher (Floater) is responsible for implementing classroom activities, either in the absence of a teacher or on a daily basis as needed. This role involves designing and following a full schedule of activities, using suitable teaching materials, and balancing logical and social exercises. The teacher will provide basic care and caregiving activities, utilize a variety of teaching methods to enhance children's abilities, and support their emotional wellbeing. Constant communication with parents regarding their child's progress is essential. The role also includes observing children's interactions, promoting harmony, identifying behavioral problems, and collaborating with colleagues. Adherence to teaching standards and safety regulations, as well as constant supervision of children in various settings, is required. The position also involves reporting injuries/accidents to the Center Director, seeking further knowledge and training in Early Childhood Development, and maintaining client, employee, and agency confidentiality. The classroom must be kept clean and orderly, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS or AA in Early Childhood Development, Child Development Associate (CDA), Certificate of Mastery (CoM), Certified Childcare Professional (CCP), or willingness to obtain CDA/CoM/CCP within 18 months of hire.
- At least one year of experience as a classroom teacher in a child care setting.
- Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods.
- Ability to create lesson plans.
- Patience, flexibility, and love for children.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Certificate in mandatory reporter, first aid and CPR or willing to obtain within the first month of employment.
- Ability to lift children assigned to your care multiple times daily.
- Must pass enhanced background check.

- Observing children's interactions and promoting the spirit of concord.
- Identifying behavioral problems and determining the right course of action.
- Collaborating with other colleagues.
- Adhering to teaching standards and safety regulations.
- Supervising children at all times (in classroom, on playground, on field trips, during parties, etc.).
- Reporting all injuries/accidents occurring during shift to Center Director.
- Gaining more knowledge, experience, and training in Early Childhood Development.
- Maintaining client, employee, and agency confidentiality.
- Maintaining classroom in a clean and orderly manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
