About The Position

Old Colony YMCA is seeking a Childcare Teacher Assistant for its Easton location. The Teacher Assistant helps plan and implement activities that ensure each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. The role involves monitoring and leading activities in a fun, safe, and educational environment, and upholding the employee code of conduct and the mission of Old Colony Y and its regulating agency.

Requirements

Minimum age of 16.
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
Strong oral communication skills for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 40 pounds frequently, and move intermittently during work hours.
Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
Proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker.

Responsibilities

Help plan and implement a program of activities for children.
Help ensure each child's personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences.
Monitor and lead activities throughout the day.
Uphold the employee code of conduct and ensure job responsibilities reflect the mission of Old Colony Y and the regulating agency.
Clean and move equipment when necessary.
