About The Position

Child Care Site Program Supervisor Positions Beginning August 2026. This is a part-time position with available hours Monday – Friday 6:30 am - 8:30 a.m. / 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Additional hours vary on ½ day, no school days and school breaks between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Site Supervisors are responsible for the daily operation and implementation of the childcare program at their assigned site. This includes the supervision of site staff and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in care. Site Supervisors shall assist the Program Administrator in developing, implementing, and evaluating program and center policies, managing day-to-day operations of the site, monitoring, supervising, and supporting site staff, maintaining a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate environment, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, supporting staff training, maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively with families, staff, school personnel, and community, assisting with enrollment, attendance tracking, scheduling, and other administrative duties, and promoting positive relationships with children, families, and staff while fostering a welcoming and inclusive program environment.

Requirements

  • College transcripts
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Completion of fingerprinting in accordance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules and Michigan Department of Education (MDE) requirements for school
  • Previous experience working in a childcare setting
  • Completion of all required annual professional development
  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Option 1: Minimum of 6 months of childcare experience AND Completion of 6 semester hours, 9 CEUs, or a combination equaling 90 clock hours of coursework in child care administration, early childhood education, child development, youth development, or another child-related field. Up to 30 hours of MiRegistry-approved training may be used toward this requirement. Work in a center that participates in Great Start to Quality (GSTQ).
  • Option 2: Minimum of 3 months of childcare experience AND Possess a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Montessori credential, Infant Family Associate credential, or an associate degree in a child-related field. Work in a center that participates in Great Start to Quality (GSTQ).
  • Option 3: Possess an associate degree or higher in any field AND Complete 3 hours of MiRegistry-approved training in each of the following areas: Program Management, Observation, Documentation, and Assessment, Teaching and Learning AND Complete 6 hours of MiRegistry-approved training in one or more of the following areas: Interactions and Guidance, Challenging Behaviors, Trauma-Informed Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules, Great Start to Quality standards, and district requirements.
  • Supporting staff training, onboarding, coaching, and professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required by licensing, program, and district guidelines.
  • Communicating effectively with families, staff, school personnel, and community.
  • Assisting with enrollment, attendance tracking, scheduling, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Promoting positive relationships with children, families, and staff while fostering a welcoming and inclusive program environment.
