The part-time Child Care Licensing Specialist II's primary role is to administer and enforce municipal and state child care licensing requirements to help protect the health, safety, and well-being of children receiving care within the Municipality of Anchorage. This position reports to the Child Care Licensing Program Manager, who exercises general supervision over licensing activities. Functions include, but are not limited to, conducting inspections and investigations of licensed and unlicensed child care facilities; reviewing applications for licensure, renewals, and facility modifications; monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations; providing technical assistance and education to child care providers; preparing licensing, inspection, and enforcement documentation; responding to complaints; and collaborating with municipal departments, state agencies, and community partners to support safe and compliant child care operations, as well as participating in departmental emergency response activities as assigned. Other duties include maintaining licensing records, entering and updating information in licensing databases, responding to public inquiries, and performing other program-related duties as assigned. This part-time position performs the same duties and responsibilities as the full-time Child Care Licensing Specialist II; however, workload assignments and caseload expectations are adjusted proportionately based on authorized part-time hours. Perform other duties as assigned.
