Child Care Language Teacher - Bilingual
About The Position
Big Blue Marble Academy is seeking an experienced, fluent foreign language teacher to lead children through its Passport to Language curriculum. The curriculum includes engaging Spanish, French, and Mandarin classes and language immersion summer camps. Lessons use workbooks, original music, songs, dance, drama, games, storytelling, and other learning materials to create a lively, encouraging, and positive learning environment. Training, materials, and lesson plans are provided. The teacher engages students across age groups and may travel between centers each week to deliver language enrichment, depending on the needs of multiple locations. The role requires clear and appropriate communication with children, directors, peers, and parents, as well as written parent communications as directed by the Language/Curriculum Program Director. Hours are part-time, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fluency in Spanish, French, or Mandarin and English.
- Experience working with children in groups.
- Comfort working with a wide variety of ages, including younger children.
- Willingness and ability to travel within a predetermined territory.
- Ability to stand six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Successful completion of the background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.
Nice To Haves
- CDA, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
