About The Position

This position will be part of a Child Care Director team and responsible for oversight of multi-site child care programs, each with on-site supervisor leadership. Position is supported by a Child Care Manager team. At the Y, we’ve never met a child whose potential we couldn’t see. With 38+ child-care centres in and around Winnipeg, we’re able to help 2,000 kids grow in mind, spirit and body each year.

Requirements

• 3-5 years in a childcare setting with supervisory and/or management experience
• Manitoba Early Childhood Educator Level 3
• Knowledge of child care regulations, best practices and school age child development
• Understanding of emergent curriculum and staff leadership development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a variety of shifts and various locations
• Valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle
• Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification
• Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check

Responsibilities

• Oversight of multi-site child care programs
• Recruiting, training and mentoring supervisors and educators
• Support the implementation of emergent curriculum
• Developing and managing budgets
• Apply ELCC and the Y’s policies, procedures, regulations and standards
• Develop and maintain partnerships with school divisions and administration
• Build rapport with children and their families
