About The Position

West Central Community Action is actively recruiting for a Full-Time Child Care Consultant for their Child Care Resource and Referral Program. Child Care Consultants are responsible for recruiting, educating, providing technical assistance to, and advocating for child care providers. Consultants also utilize a quality rating system for program planning and staff development.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences with an emphasis or education based in Early Childhood, or similar degree.
Dependable transportation.
Current and valid driver's license.
Maintain up to date auto liability insurance.
Sound technical and computer skills.
Must complete background check which includes an FBI fingerprint record check.

Responsibilities

Gain and demonstrate working knowledge of State of Iowa Administrative Code for each type of child care setting.
Contact and recruit qualified child care providers to participate in quality initiatives as detailed by the Scope of Services Contract, including best practices as defined by Caring for Our Children, National Standards for early childhood.
Maintain a cooperative working relationship with local Health & Human Services (HHS) staff assigned for child care registration, licensure, and/or compliance to ensure TA is consistent with the compliance issues identified by HHS.
Promote CCR&R provider, parent and community services through marketing materials and meetings throughout the communities.
Complete the I-Consult Certification as detailed by the Scope of Services.
Utilize a quality rating system for program planning and staff development.
