This role is responsible for the overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, should be able to adapt to menu changes and meet meal and snack schedules. The position involves creating home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu, budget, and state/federal requirements. Responsibilities include preparing meals and snacks for children and staff, distributing food to classrooms, following daily menus that incorporate USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations, and maintaining inventory of food and supplies, ordering more when needed. The role also includes assisting in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
