About The Position

The Child Care Assistant Teacher works side-by-side with teachers and families to provide children with a home-away-from-home experience according to NAEYC guidelines. The role serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years and is based at the Fairlawn, Ohio center. The position is full-time, with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and no evenings or weekends. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and prior classroom experience is not required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classrooms, indoors and outdoors, as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
