About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring Child Care Assistant Teachers to support classroom activities and care for children. Assistant Teachers work with Lead Teachers to facilitate daily activities and keep the classroom functioning smoothly, partner with families, document children’s milestones using electronic daily tracking, and follow enhanced safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe classroom. The academy offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities, with a potential career path from Assistant Teacher to Center Director. Available schedules include full-time Assistant Teachers in the Three's classroom from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., a full-time Assistant Pre-K Teacher from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a part-time Assistant Teacher on the closing shift from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Employment is contingent on successful completion of background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Ability to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
Successful completion of background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Visually supervise children at all times.
