Child Care Assistant Teacher

About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring Assistant Teachers for infant, toddler, and floater classrooms, with full-time and part-time positions available. Assistant Teachers work with Lead Teachers to support daily activities and classroom operations, partner with families to nurture and care for children, document children’s milestones using electronic daily tracking, and follow safety guidelines to keep classrooms clean and safe. The academy describes a team-oriented, inclusive work environment and offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities from Assistant Teacher through Center Director. Employment is contingent on successful completion of background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Ability to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and perform similar movements while working with children.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Successful completion of the background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and ensure the classroom functions smoothly.
Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
Use electronic daily tracking to document children’s special milestones.
Follow safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
