Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring an Assistant Teacher to work in person at an early education/preschool child care center in the Redmond, Washington area. The role provides supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and related services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance, applicable laws and regulations, and requirements for the safety of children and employees. The scheduled hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position offers opportunities to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program. The hourly pay range is $19.60–$24.45, with offers depending on factors such as experience, education, training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Pass required state and company background checks.
- Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
- Be able to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10–40 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
- Demonstrate the range of motion needed to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
- A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
- Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones.
- Keep the classroom safe and clean by following required procedures and guidelines.
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies and applicable requirements.
- Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple, unexpected, or emergency situations.
- Maintain the mental and physical alertness and energy needed to perform essential job requirements.
