About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring an Early Child Care Assistant Teacher. The role supports a curriculum that broadens children’s perspectives and understanding of the world beyond their community. Assistant Teachers work with a Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, care for children, communicate with families, document milestones using electronic tracking, and maintain a clean and safe classroom. On-the-job training and career development opportunities are available, with a potential career path from Assistant Teacher to Center Director. Positions are available in the Infants room and Three's classroom. Both listed schedules are 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; experience is specified for each position.

Requirements

Be at least 19 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have demonstrated experience working with children; experience is specified for the available Infants room and Three's classroom positions.
Be able to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and perform similar movements while working with children.
Be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and ensure the classroom functions smoothly.
Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
Use electronic daily tracking to document children’s special milestones.
Follow enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
