About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring Assistant Teachers for full-time positions with toddlers and 2's/young preschoolers. The role supports children’s learning and care in an early education/preschool child care center, working in person in the NYC, NY area. Employees provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services according to Bright Horizons’ policies and guidance, applicable laws and regulations, and safety requirements. The position offers opportunities to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass required state and company background checks.
• Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
• Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
• Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
• Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
• Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
• A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities that meet the needs and interests of children.
• Maintain open communication with parents and share their child's daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance.
