Child Care Assistant Teacher

About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring Assistant Teachers for infant, toddler, and floater positions, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Assistant Teachers work with Lead Teachers to facilitate daily activities and keep classrooms running smoothly, partner with families to nurture and care for children, document children’s milestones using electronic daily tracking, and follow enhanced safety guidelines to maintain clean, safe classrooms. The role offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities, with a potential career path from Assistant Teacher to Center Director.

Requirements

At least 19 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Able to stand six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Able to lift at least 30 pounds.
Successful completion of the background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes is required for employment.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a CDA, or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work as a team with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and ensure the classroom functions smoothly.
Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
Use electronic daily tracking to document children’s special milestones.
Follow enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
