Child Care Assistant Teacher

About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring full-time and part-time Child Care Assistant Teachers working with infants, toddlers, or as floaters. The role involves supporting classroom activities, caring for children in partnership with families, documenting milestones using electronic tracking, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom. The academy describes a team-oriented and inclusive work environment, on-the-job training, and opportunities for career advancement from Assistant Teacher to Center Director. Employment is contingent on successful background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

Be at least 19 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have demonstrated experience working with children.
Be able to stand for six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend while working with children.
Be able to lift at least 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
Early childhood coursework, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with the Lead Teacher to facilitate daily activities and help ensure the classroom functions smoothly.
Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
Use electronic daily tracking to document children's milestones.
Follow safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe.
Visually supervise children at all times.
