About The Position

The Child Care Aide / Kitchen Support is responsible for assisting staff with the supervision, education and care services provided to the children. This role will assist in implementing daily schedules and routines such as diapering and toileting; daily cleaning, organizing, and laundering; and meal prep and service. This role would support classrooms throughout the day while also assisting in the kitchen alongside our Kitchen Coordinator.

Requirements

• Be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Possess a deep love for children and a strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and the community
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Must be creative, enthusiastic and have a high energy level
• Proven ability to work collaboratively
• Decisive, patient, and understanding
• Keen attention to detail
• Superior organizational skills
• Knowledge of child care regulations
• Ability to care for several children at once
• Ability to prepare, cook, serve and clean-up meals served to the children
• Must adapt well to change and be a quick learner with the ability to make changes in the schedule as needed
• Ability to take direction and coaching in order to provide the highest quality of care
• Experience working with children ranging in ages from 0-6

Responsibilities

• Assisting teachers in classrooms as needed
• Supervising and engaging with children
• Helping maintain a clean and organized center
• Assisting with meal prep and kitchen cleanup
• Washing dishes and laundry
• Supporting the Kitchen Coordinator with daily tasks
• Helping cover breaks and transitions between classrooms
• Helping to close the center with a qualified staff member.
