FosterAdopt Connect’s Behavioral Interventionists work one-on-one with children and teens facing mental and behavioral health challenges, often involving histories of trauma, abuse, or neglect. The role supports children whose behavioral or relationship difficulties may affect placement stability, using trauma-informed approaches to build daily living skills, emotional regulation, independence, and healthy relationships. Behavioral Interventionists provide neurodevelopmental activities and use role-modeling, coaching, and redirection to help children develop positive skills and manage emotions. They follow individualized behavioral plans, create engaging activities based on each child’s interests and goals, and support family routines and structures while modeling supportive behavioral strategies. Staff receive ongoing training, supervision, and professional development. The position typically involves working with clients three to five times per week during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, helping them build skills for home, school, and community settings.
