The Opportunity: We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Child and Youth Care Workers in Grande Prairie, Alberta. In this role, you'll be pivotal in a group home setting, offering specialized care to children and youth with complex behavioural needs. What sets us apart? Requirements

  • Direct experience working with youth with complex behavioural and mental health needs
  • Knowledge of Child and Youth Care work and best practices
  • Trauma Informed Care understanding and proven experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong technology and computer skills
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License
  • Alberta 10-year Driver's Abstract (10 years driving experience is not required)
  • Alberta auto insurance with $2-million liability coverage
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C + AED (two day in-person training completed)
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained within the last 6 months
  • Intervention Record Check obtained from Children Services within the last 6 months
  • Your own reliable four-door vehicle to transport clients in

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Work is an asset
  • Suicide prevention training and/or Mental Health First Aid is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Establish a relationship to guide and support youth through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement
  • Supervise children/youth at home and in the community
  • Complete and maintain documentation of daily activities and observations
  • Participate in the Care Team through the ongoing development of care plans and programs
  • Perform routine general program responsibilities such as cleaning and organization
