About The Position

Functions in an independent and professional manner to provide high-quality, trauma informed behavioral health services to outpatient clients and their families. Schedule: Monday through Thursday 10:00-7:00, F 9-2:30 (one day remote). Clinical Responsibilities: Provides short-term and long-term evidence-based behavioral health services to patients and their families, including individual, family, and group therapy. Provides behavioral health consultation services in clinics within an integrated health model for a minimum of 8 hours per week. Provides care for patients with presenting symptoms such as behavioral problems, trauma exposure and symptomology, school and learning problems, attention problems, anxiety, depression, as well as others. Has training in and can implement behavioral health interventions, such as individual psychotherapy, behavior modification techniques, trauma therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention. Expectations are 45% of time spent in therapy with a minimum of 20 patients (short- and long-term) scheduled per week. Conducts clinical intake assessments and appropriately diagnoses. Issues scores, scales, and measures to evaluate functioning and for diagnostic clarification. Provides case management and advocacy. Consults and collaborates with the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure services are integrated into patient’s treatment. Additional Functions: May be involved in education and training programs for other students and staff members, both inside and outside of the Division of Behavioral Health. Conducts in-service training and educational seminars for hospital staff, parents, and/or community agencies as required. Provides supervision to interns, externs, and post-doctoral fellows (when licensed in Illinois). Plays an active role in the recruitment of trainees (interns, externs, and post-doctoral fellows). Serves as a member of the Pediatric Psychology training committee. Documents sessions and clinical activities within 24 hours of contact. Attends department meetings and presents cases for review. Collaborates with internal and external providers to promote comprehensive care. Works with diverse client base. Interfaces and collaborates with hospital multidisciplinary team. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MS required
  • Professional experience in delivering behavioral health care to children and adolescents
  • Experience working with children on a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with trauma informed care and chronically ill children highly desirable
  • CPR required. Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted
  • Covid 19 and Flu vaccination required

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW/Psy.D/Ph.D. in IL preferred
