About The Position

Provides clinical mental health services to children and families in an outpatient community mental health clinic, client homes, or community-based locations such as schools. Responsibilities include case management and assisting with mental health treatment services such as intakes, diagnosis, and therapy under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed supervisor.

Requirements

  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis
  • Ability to drive with adequate vision
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science
  • Currently enrolled in a master’s degree in an accredited program in social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy or closely related field
  • Prior experience working with children, families, and adults in a professional outpatient setting preferred
  • Operate from a strengths-based perspective
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to provide service in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with referral sources
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community
  • Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (RAAC) or Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (CAAC) credential with Washington State Department of Health
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and agency minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider
  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally sensitive treatment to children, families, and adults using Evidence Based Practices
  • Complete required documentation within the identified timeframes
  • Assist in the development of clinical treatment plans which focus on client strengths, culture, needs, and goals within the briefest time frame for successful achievement.
  • Maintain encounters/productivity of 60% of reportable/billable services
  • Participate in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement to ensure that services provided demonstrate best practice standards and meet all contractual requirements
  • Actively participate in individual and group supervision, clinical staff meetings, and other multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Staff cases which require specialist consultations and psychiatric consultation as required
  • Coordinate client treatment with schools, physicians, and other community resources and make referrals to community services whenever necessary
  • Observe confidentiality in all related program functions with staff and families
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with other community mental health providers, primary care, and other referral sources
  • Provide routine services and on-call coverage outside of standard business hours if required by assigned program or team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
