About The Position

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely. As a group therapist in our Child and Adolescent Programs, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Requirements

  • Are passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others
  • Are a Psychologist or Master’s level therapist
  • Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible), LPC (or LPC eligible), LCSW, LCPC, PsyD, or PhD
  • Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills

Nice To Haves

  • Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with patients aged 8-13 (child program) and 14-17 years old (adolescent program)
  • Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
  • Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
  • Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
  • Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
  • Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
  • Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
  • Providing individual support to patients, as needed
  • Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
  • Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
  • Participating in discharge planning for patients
  • Other duties, as assigned
