About The Position

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery is a leader in providing behavioral health services to adults, adolescents, and children. We engage people in our community to achieve mental and emotional well-being through prevention, treatment, and advocacy. With the merger of The LCADA Way and The Nord Center, at Riveon Mental Health and Recovery we have the opportunity to provide integrated behavioral health care with cutting edge treatments and interventions in a supportive environment. We are looking for passionate, caring, and dedicated counselors and social workers to provide office-based and telehealth services to our clients. The purpose of this position is to provide managed behavioral health care services for children, adolescents, and their families in a culturally diverse community. The emphasis is on time-effective, time-intermittent psychotherapy, counseling and community psychiatric support & treatment with children, adolescents, and their families. The position provides face-to-face screening, assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, community outreach and referral services in response to requests for assistance with mental health issues.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a mental health related field with any of the following licenses is required: LSW or LPC
  • Must have strong oral and written skills
  • Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Must be highly skilled at behavioral health screening/assessment and counseling in children, adolescents with mental health needs and their families, making appropriate referral, and working effectively under pressure
  • Must have favorable references and/or evaluations
  • A working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues
  • Must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures
  • The individual must be able to speak and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Due to the amount of paperwork that is required, the individual must have excellent documentation skills
  • Must be able to drive, bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times
  • The employee should have close vision ability
  • The individual must be able to operate basic office equipment

Nice To Haves

  • LISW, LPCC is preferred
  • Experience in assessment, crisis intervention, conducting long and short-term therapy with children and adolescents, or other experience in the treatment of mental health/chemical abuse is preferred
  • Fluency in speaking Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy services to adults and/or children
  • Psychosocial and diagnostic assessments
  • Completing treatment plans
  • Providing individual and group counseling
  • Provide screening, assessment, crisis intervention and referral services in response to telephone requests for aid
  • Make assessment of clients’ problems
  • Provide information about community resources, refer clients to most appropriate resource
  • Gather information through intake interviews
  • Evaluate nature and degree of mental/emotional distress, substance use/abuse, health issues, and social/interpersonal problems
  • Develop individual service plans with clients
  • Conduct individual and group therapy, family therapy sessions, crisis intervention and community support services with children, adolescents, their families using various psychotherapeutic treatment modalities
  • Coordinate treatment with other agencies, services and other programs within the agency
  • Complete case notes on intake process, treatment plan and client’s progress in accordance with OI/OA guidelines
  • Provide consultation and education service to community groups by assisting in program planning, giving educational talks and lectures, and by consulting on specific cases
  • Maintain required productivity expectation
  • Participate in clinical supervision and administrative meetings as required by the Clinical Services Coordinator and/supervisor
  • React to change and stress productively and handle other tasks as assigned
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance and be available for evening counseling sessions
  • Get along with others and work as a team
