About The Position
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to fill an opening in the KernBHRS department that provides specialty behavioral health services to Medi-Cal recipients and uninsured, located in Kern County, CA. The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists deliver trauma-informed care to minors with developmental disorders, mood dysregulation, and school-related behavioral challenges. This role involves forensic evaluations for dependency cases and collaboration with Kern County schools and juvenile justice systems.
Requirements
- Must have an active California Medical License
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certified
- Must be DEA Certified
- Must have board certification or board eligibility in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ADHD diagnostic evaluations using Vanderbilt scales and implement school-based 504/IEP accommodations.
- Manage psychopharmacology for autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including FDA-approved medications for irritability (e.g., aripiprazole) while coordinating with ABA therapists.
- Perform court-ordered evaluations for child welfare cases, including assessments of parental competency and trauma-related dissociative symptoms.
- Supervise Child Psychiatry Fellows in crisis intervention techniques for suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors.
