About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in an acute care hospital setting in San Francisco, CA. The role involves clinical duties and on-call responsibilities, covering a period of 26 weeks starting from 09/28/2026. The psychiatrist will manage adolescent psychiatric patients, develop treatment plans, perform rounding, and provide admission orders during night call. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team and documentation in the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• Active California Medical License
• Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Board Certified in General Psychiatry with Completed CAP Fellowship
• Active DEA Required
• Board Certification Required
• Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Experience Required
• Strong psychopharmacology knowledge
• Knowledge of adolescent development
• Knowledge of family systems
• Multidisciplinary leadership experience
• De-escalation techniques experience
• Collaborative care experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adolescent psychiatric patients
• Develop individualized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team
• Perform weekend rounding and weekday clinical coverage
• Provide night call coverage and place admission orders as needed
• Document patient care in Epic
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Provide phone consults
• Perform psychiatric evaluations
• Provide medication management
• Provide crisis intervention
