About The Position

The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist is responsible for delivering psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to program clients within a team-based, trauma-informed care model. This role includes clinical oversight and supervision of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
  • Licensed to practice medicine independently in California
  • Completion of psychiatry residency and 2-year child & adolescent fellowship
  • Strong leadership, clinical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and assessments
  • Prescribe medication and monitor side effects
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to NPs, RNs, and support staff
  • Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team processes
  • Maintain clinical documentation and reporting standards
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and ethical guidelines
  • Consult with external medical professionals as needed
  • May provide direct therapy or emergency psychiatric consultation
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other clinicians to integrate care
