About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a full-time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. This role offers a balanced and rewarding schedule, with 0.6 FTE in outpatient psychiatry and 0.4 FTE in our growing Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Lakeville. Children's Minnesota provides a continuum of psychiatric care including outpatient psychiatry clinic, integrated behavioral health in several general pediatric and specialty clinics, partial hospital and inpatient mental health care as well as psychiatric consultation to our emergency rooms and inpatient medical units. We are closely allied with strong Psychology, Eating disorders, Neuropsychology, and Developmental Pediatrics departments, providing services on both the Minneapolis and St Paul hospital campuses. Outpatient - you will work with referrals solely from Children’s specialty clinics, serving individuals at all stages of development and addressing diverse mental health concerns, providing exposure to the full spectrum of outpatient psychiatric conditions while working with a diverse range of mental health presentations. Partial Hospitalization Program - join a multidisciplinary team of 3 psychiatrists, psychologists, program therapists, mental health specialists, and music and art therapists. Provide direct psychiatric care, including brief assessments and targeted interventions, while partnering with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop outcomes-focused care plans addressing mental health needs, functional impairment, and co-occurring medical or substance-related conditions.

Requirements

  • Must have an M.D., D.O. with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Candidates must be eligible to take the certifying exam in 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct psychiatric care, including brief assessments and targeted interventions.
  • Partner with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop outcomes-focused care plans addressing mental health needs, functional impairment, and co-occurring medical or substance-related conditions.
  • Work with referrals solely from Children’s specialty clinics, serving individuals at all stages of development and addressing diverse mental health concerns.
  • Provide exposure to the full spectrum of outpatient psychiatric conditions while working with a diverse range of mental health presentations.
  • In-person inpatient unit rounding two weekends per year.
  • On-call coverage from home one week per year.
