About The Position

Weston & Sampson is seeking an experienced Chief Wastewater Operator to oversee the operation and maintenance of municipal wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and recharge facilities out of our Mashpee, MA plant. Requirements

  • Massachusetts Grade 6 Wastewater Operator License or higher required.
  • Previous experience operating wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and MassDEP requirements.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations.
  • Ensure compliance with MassDEP permits, regulations, sampling, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor treatment processes and make operational adjustments as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate wastewater operations staff.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of facility equipment.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and regulatory documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with Town representatives, Company management, maintenance personnel, and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in rotating weekend/holiday inspections and an on-call rotation.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
