About The Position

The Chief Technology Officer leads CES Power’s global technology organization and translates the company’s technology strategy into execution, adoption, and measurable business results. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the CTO partners with senior leaders to shape technology priorities while owning the roadmap, architecture, organization, platforms, and execution required to deliver them. This is an operator’s CTO role. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable participating in executive discussions, working alongside technology teams to solve difficult problems, challenging a vendor, understanding data and architecture, visiting a branch or warehouse, and spending time on active CES Power job sites with the employees who use our technology every day. The CTO leads all aspects of technology, including enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, software development, integrations, AI and automation, end-user computing, technology support, and strategic technology partners. The fundamental objective is to use technology to make CES Power easier to work for, easier to operate, and easier to do business with. Operating Model The CTO operates within a clear division of accountability between the business and Technology: Area Primary accountability Business Process Business leaders own the process, operating requirements, policies, and business outcomes. Technology Tools Technology owns the platforms, architecture, integrations, reliability, usability, and technical roadmap that enable the process. Technology Strategy Executive leadership drives overall technology direction; the CTO participates in strategy and owns translating it into priorities, roadmaps, architecture, and execution. Cybersecurity & Risk The CTO holds executive accountability for technology security, resilience, and risk while using strategic partners for appropriate execution and maintaining a business-enablement mindset.

  • Experience managing significant technology vendors, budgets, and investment decisions.

  • Experience supporting distributed, field-based, or operational workforces.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed business or a similarly demanding high-growth operating environment.

  • Own execution across the global technology portfolio, balancing speed, scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
  • Establish clear accountability and operating cadence for technology initiatives and personally engage when projects, systems, or vendors require intervention.
  • Connect technology investment to measurable outcomes including productivity, job profitability, asset and labor utilization, operating margin, scalability, and customer experience.

  • Evaluate organizational structure, capabilities, and talent and make changes necessary to support CES Power’s continued growth.

  • Use technology, integration, workflow automation, and AI to eliminate unnecessary manual work and make CES Power simpler to operate.
  • Identify friction, duplicate entry, disconnected workflows, and administrative burden across the organization and systematically reduce them.
  • Operationalize appropriate AI opportunities from concept through production, adoption, and measurable results; apply AI where it materially improves the business rather than pursuing AI for its own sake.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand how work actually happens before designing or implementing technology solutions.
  • Measure success through adoption and business impact rather than project completion alone.
  • Own the technology capabilities supporting CES Power’s ERP, CRM, operational platforms, iSeeWhere, and other core business systems.
  • Ensure platforms are reliable, integrated, scalable, and capable of producing trusted information for decision making.
  • Improve the accessibility, reliability, and usefulness of data throughout CES Power.

  • Provide leadership and technical direction for internally developed applications, integrations, automation, and data capabilities.
  • Establish pragmatic architecture and development standards appropriate for a rapidly growing operating business.
  • Make thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions based on business value, speed, sustainability, and total cost.
  • Maintain sufficient technical depth to challenge architecture, development approaches, and vendors while empowering technical leaders to execute.
  • Maintain executive accountability for cybersecurity, technology risk, infrastructure, identity, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
  • Establish appropriate security standards and ensure internal teams and strategic partners execute against them.
  • Lead security with a business-enablement mindset, protecting CES Power without creating unnecessary friction for employees or customers.
  • Hold managed service, security, and technology partners accountable for performance, responsiveness, economics, and results.
  • Ensure the global technology environment is reliable, scalable, and prepared to support continued growth.
  • Spend meaningful time with CES Power employees where work happens, including branches, warehouses, and active job sites.
  • Develop firsthand understanding of how technology impacts leaders, Account Managers, Project Managers, technicians, warehouse personnel, and other employees.
  • Use field observation and employee feedback to identify opportunities to simplify work and improve execution.
  • Ensure technology solutions work in real-world operating environments, not just in an office or demonstration environment.
  • Maintain global visibility across the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, and future geographies while establishing appropriate enterprise standards.
  • Own the technology budget and ensure resources are directed toward the highest-value business priorities.
  • Develop credible business cases for significant technology investments and measure whether expected benefits are realized.
  • Manage strategic technology partners based on outcomes, service quality, economics, and business value.
  • Continually evaluate opportunities to simplify the technology landscape and reduce unnecessary cost.
