About The Position

The Long Beach Unified School District is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and proactive Chief Technology Officer. Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools or designee, the CTO serves as a principal advisor on District-wide technology initiatives and leads the strategic development, implementation, and administration of technology and information services. These services include educational technology, student information management, infrastructure, cloud services, data security, and business systems aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Shape the vision for District technology services, aligning educational technology, student information management, infrastructure, and business systems with organizational goals.
• Lead enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiatives, legacy system modernization, and project portfolio management.
• Direct daily operations across networks, cloud services, application development, telecommunications, and end-user support; direct data security and recovery procedures.
• Partner with school administrators and office teams to evaluate, deliver, and support technical solutions that meet diverse learning and administrative needs.
• Oversee vendor partnerships, contract negotiations, proposal evaluations, and technology equipment replacement cycles.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets and analyze expenditures.
• Supervise, evaluate, and mentor assigned staff while fostering a customer-focused, innovative, and continuous-learning culture.
