About The Position

The Regional Chief Therapist, Radiation Oncology directs the department's therapy services, overall operations, administration, personnel, operating budget, and administrative functions. The Regional Chief Therapist is responsible for the operational performance of department services and provides leadership and collaborates for strategic planning inclusive of expansion and growth to the Clinical Director. Operations require management of certified and licensed radiation therapists for treatment and simulation practices. Radiation therapists work under the direct supervision of the Regional Chief Therapist. Travel between multiple sites may be a requirement of this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an A.M.A. approved 2-year training program in radiation therapy technology or its equivalent is required.
  • Registered Radiation Therapy licensure in the state of New Jersey is required.
  • Certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required.
  • CPR Required.
  • A good decision-maker, with demonstrated success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
  • Understanding employee strengths and effectively delegating tasks to maximize productivity.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and institute improvement pathways in the clinical environment as they pertain to sectional operations.
  • Assess and evaluate staff against the established standards of practice.
  • Develop and maintain standards of practice and practice guidelines for therapy services in all treatment environments across all sectors of the department.
  • Provide direction for the development, implementation, and analysis of treatment delivery options to ensure the efficiency and consistency of treatment delivery across the institution.
  • Lead and advance radiation therapy clinical practice across all treatment environments by developing, implementing, and maintaining standards of practice, clinical competencies, orientation programs, and competency assessments; evaluate staff performance against established standards while fostering a culture of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership for professional development and education by overseeing continuing education, certification and licensure compliance, staff and student training programs, clinical education initiatives, and the creation of educational and multimedia resources for faculty, staff, students, and the broader professional community.
  • Design, facilitate and implement scheduling practice for Radiation Oncology that will provide greater flexibility with respect to treatment techniques, availability and proximity for our patients.
  • Optimize clinical operations and patient care delivery by designing and continuously improving patient flow, advancing technical and patient care services, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and accrediting agency standards.
  • Drive the growth, innovation, and operational excellence of radiation therapy services by leading strategic initiatives, optimizing clinical workflows, supporting facility planning and service expansion, advancing professional practice, and ensuring compliance with all applicable institutional and accreditation standards.
