About The Position

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for providing executive leadership and oversight of the day-to-day administrative, operational, and ministry functions of House of Hope of the Pee Dee. The COO serves as a strategic partner to the CEO in implementing the organization's mission, vision, values, and long-term goals. The COO ensures ministry programs, support services, and operational departments function effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with the organization's Christian mission.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Ministry, Public Administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree with significant leadership experience considered.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, administration, nonprofit management, ministry leadership, or related field.
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated through a profession of faith.
  • Actively participate in and remain in good standing with a local Christian church.
  • Support and uphold the mission, values, and Christian principles of House of Hope of the Pee Dee.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, integrity, humility, and compassion.
  • Have a passion for serving individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship.
  • Be willing to pray with, encourage, and share the Gospel with residents, guests, volunteers, and staff when appropriate.
  • Exhibit Christian conduct consistent with Biblical principles both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all operational, programmatic, and administrative functions of the organization.
  • Work in partnership with the CEO to develop and implement strategic plans supporting the mission, vision, and goals of House of Hope.
  • Assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external operational processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and systems that promote organizational excellence and accountability.
  • Lead organizational planning, budgeting, and performance management processes.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop leaders and staff while fostering a culture of excellence and servant leadership.
  • Provide oversight of risk management, incident reporting, contractual matters, and organizational compliance.
  • Promote continuous improvement of ministry programs, operational systems, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Monitor organizational performance and provide reports and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Support fundraising efforts and maintain positive relationships with donors, churches, and community partners.
  • Provide spiritual leadership and guidance regarding ethical issues, organizational culture, and ministry initiatives.
  • Maintain alignment of all operations with the Christian mission, values, and principles of House of Hope.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of ministry programs and support departments.
  • Lead and develop department directors, managers, and supervisors.
  • Assist with recruitment, staffing, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Promote organizational culture, employee engagement, and professional development.
  • Ensure departments operate within approved budgets and achieve performance goals.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
