About The Position

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a strategic executive role responsible for creating and executing strategy, developing organizational capabilities, driving Lean transformation, and achieving world-class operational performance. This position oversees operations and supply chain teams, including production, maintenance, engineering, quality, continuous improvement (CI), materials, procurement, loading, and fleet logistics. The COO ensures seamless integration of these functions to achieve operational excellence and align with the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Financial oversight experience, including budgeting and CapEx projects.

Responsibilities

Help develop, communicate, and execute the company’s operational strategic plans, ensuring alignment at all levels utilizing Hoshin Strategic processes.
Lead cross-functional initiatives, integrating Lean principles and the Viwinco Performance System across operational and supply chain functions.
Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.
Build leadership capabilities across all operational and supply chain teams to support a high-performance culture.
Mentor and coach leaders in Lean methodologies and strategic problem-solving.
Ensure team members have the tools and knowledge to achieve strategic and operational goals.
Champion Lean principles throughout the organization by implementing the Viwinco Performance System.
Utilize our Core Tenets to establish the behaviors and mindsets expected out of the organization.
Conduct Gemba walks to engage with teams, promote transparency, and address challenges.
Implement and standardize Lean practices to ensure scalability and sustainability.
Oversee production, maintenance, engineering, and quality to ensure industry-leading performance.
Establish and track KPIs in our cascading KPI tree to support company SQDC targets at all levels.
Drive initiatives to maintain cost efficiency while delivering high-quality outputs and meeting on-time delivery targets.
Lead procurement, materials management, and inventory control to optimize material flow and maintain inventory within the 'green zone.'
Oversee loading operations and fleet logistics to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries and maximize fleet efficiency.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with the company’s growth and operational needs.
Ensure operational and supply chain strategies support the company’s Core Tenet of Customer Focus.
Promote defect-free production and just-in-time delivery to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate with sales and service teams to align operations with customer needs and satisfaction goals.
Partner with the CFO to ensure alignment of operational and supply chain budgets with strategic priorities.
Oversee capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, ensuring investments support growth and operational goals.
