Chief Operating Officer
About The Position
As Chief Operating Officer, you will be a strategic partner to the CEO, leading operations across our entire cancer care system. This role oversees medical oncology, radiation oncology, pharmacy, support services, physics, and quality, spanning more than 20 locations in Louisiana and 1 in Mississippi. You will drive alignment across these disciplines and regions, harmonizing operations and patient care, while integrating financial stewardship into daily operations. Your leadership will ensure our teams deliver on our mission to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is Louisiana’s leading cancer care organization, caring for more patients each year than any other facility in the state. SCOPE: Responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of patient care programs furnished by Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Serves as the Chief Executive Officer’s strategic partner in leading enterprise operations, executing organizational strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring exceptional patient, physician, and team member experiences across the enterprise. Builds and sustains trusted partnerships with physicians, health system executives, community organizations, and strategic partners to support operational excellence, organizational growth, and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 15+ years of clinical and business management required
- Experience in financial and administrative operations, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Proven experience in information technology planning, organization, and development
- Exceptional executive leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational influence
- Strong financial, analytical, and operational decision-making skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, executive leaders, Board members, and external stakeholders
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters
