About The Position

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) seeks an ambitious, dynamic, entrepreneurial Chief of Staff to support our CEO. You will serve as a force multiplier to the CEO and the company’s Leadership Team. In this role, you will provide critical operational and strategic support to the CEO and executive leadership team to enable efficient and effective operations. You will provide guidance and leadership around the execution of IAB strategic imperatives, deliver on the company operating plan, and enable data-informed business decisions. From day one, the Chief of Staff will have an immediate impact by taking on various must-get-done projects to help keep the business running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll significantly impact our productivity and effectiveness by streamlining operations and processes to scale the business to the next level. You should be able to thrive in ambiguity as the Chief of Staff is a living, breathing, evolving role based on the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the digital economy, knowledge of advertising technology, AI, digital content, social media, measurement.
  • Passion for advertising, marketing, and media.
  • High level of Emotional Intelligence, attuned to perceptions and how others feel, leveraging insight to manage communication and behaviors.
  • Ability to adapt actions to achieve goals, demonstrating listening skills and empathy, working effectively with people of different backgrounds and diverging interests.

  • Years of direct experience working in Digital Media/Marketing and/or Business Management.
  • B.A./ B.S in a relevant field.
  • World Class Communicator with experience presenting to large audiences.
  • Intrepid problem-solver with a strong business sense, excited to dive into topics and quickly become an expert.
  • Ability to distill learning into clear, concise written summaries and reports.
  • Experience engaging with teams cross-functionally, knowing how to bring a team together to deliver results, while considering all team members.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a critical business partner to CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Understand digital industry challenges/opportunities to provide strategic input to business planning and operations.
  • Advice the CEO on the organization’s strategic direction and leadership team’s priorities, including strategy development and employee experience.
  • Evaluate new ideas and business opportunities; conduct analysis and research to support key decisions.
  • Create synergy across all facets of the organization, including Centers of Excellence, Member Engagement & Development, Public Policy, Legal, Research, Marketing, Events, Professional Development & Education, Program Management, and Operations.
  • Own agenda and follow-ups for all Leadership Team meetings, support Leadership Team with project execution (timelines, work plans, materials, etc.), and ensure key cross-functional stakeholders are aware of Leadership Team initiatives and held accountable for their input/work product as needed.
  • Facilitate the optimal operation of committees, councils, and working groups.
  • Work to streamline processes, evaluate alternative directions to achieve optimum organizational performance, and re-engineer to consistently improve results.
  • Collaborate across departments to create new solutions and services for members – optimize current offerings and suggest new approaches.
  • Oversee and lead the Program Management Office (PMO), establishing governance, prioritization frameworks, and execution standards across all strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment to organizational priorities, drive accountability through clear milestones and KPIs, and enable consistent, high-quality delivery across teams.
  • Serve as a centralized hub for risk identification, mitigation, and escalation, proactively addressing dependencies, gaps, and execution challenges.
  • Develop and build upon relationships across all employees to help identify and define new operational strategies and processes, address cross-team challenges, and ensure an efficient flow of information and objectives.
  • Support the productivity of executive leadership team meetings by owning the planning, agenda, notes, and follow-up items including leading the programming, planning, and execution of the annual leadership offsite.
  • Own and continuously improve company operating cadence (e.g., executive team meetings, all hands, product development, operational check-in meetings, etc.)
  • Own and drive a data-forward approach across the organization, including KPI refinement, dashboarding, and performance tracking; translate data into actionable insights to inform strategy, optimize execution, and enable leadership decision-making.
  • Own and oversee the company’s strategic planning process, including annual and quarterly planning cycles, ensuring alignment from high-level strategy through to execution across all functions and initiatives.
