About The Position

The Chief of Staff will be a force multiplier for the CEO and Valerie Health broadly. This role involves partnering closely with the CEO to drive strategic and operational activities, including core operating cadence, special projects, and investor relations, as well as all aspects required to build an early-stage business. It is ideal for individuals who wish to experience building a mission-driven company from the ground up with the support of experienced leaders and investors. Ideal candidates are action-oriented, strategic, analytical, organized, possess an affection for start-up scrappiness, and can navigate ambiguity.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience, including 2+ years operating at an early or growth stage startup or in venture capital.
  • Strong ability to influence and persuade business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability multi-tasking and managing competing priorities and objectives.
  • Eagerness to learn new approaches, seek feedback, and continually improve skill sets (Growth Mindset).
  • Clear and succinct in both written and verbal communication, capable of adjusting style for different audiences and conveying technical topics to non-technical stakeholders (Strong Communicator).

Responsibilities

  • Be a critical thought partner to the CEO on all elements of corporate strategy, including product definition, target customers, and team.
  • Support the CEO in sales and customer success, including joining meetings, helping prepare materials, and leading parts of customer efforts.
  • Run point on key strategic initiatives, getting them from 0 1, including standing up critical internal efforts and partnership efforts.
  • Lead the initial version of core operational functions for the business, such as drafting board memos and supporting team offsites.
  • Partner closely with all members of the team, helping to provide context and build culture.
